Latest News:

New Bike Shop in Nidderdale
Great news!  Stif Performance Mountain Bikes are coming to Nidderdale.  Here's what Rob at Stif told us:

"After 25 years in Headingly, we're moving up and over the hill to Summerbridge in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.
Our larger premises will house our new demo centre and retail showroom offering more stock, 30+ demo bikes, bike wash and changing facilities.  Ride straight from our door and into the beautiful Yorkshire Dales"

They will be open for business in Summerbridge on 1st December 2009.  Meanwhile, you can still find them in Headingly, North of Leeds City Centre, or buy online at:

Gorge Walking Images: How Stean Gorge
We've finally got around to putting together some photo galleries.  This should give you an idea of what you are letting yourself in for!  Click HERE to access the gorge walking gallery showing a stag do event we ran recently.

The latest galleries are Gorge Adventure at How Stean Gorge and The Big QE Abseil. These photos were taken on 14th November.  The water was flowing well for the gorge walking and scrambling adventure at How Stean Gorge.  Fortunately the rain held off for most of the day for the Big QE Abseil in Gateshead.

The group was glad that we have now invested in wetsuit jackets, to compliment the wet suit long johns, wetsuit gloves and socks and spray-tops.  This helps you keep warmer for longer, so you can concentrate on gorge scrambling!

The second gallery is loads of photos of a charity abseil we ran in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital at Gateshead.  One of the members of staff in the finance team is taking part in a sponsored cycle through Central America - this abseil helped her exceed her fundraising target.

If you want to raise money for a charity or sponsored event, get in touch.  We can carry out a site visit of your preferred building, assess the risks and tell you what's possible.  Earlier this year we bolted Leeds Town Hall to enable them to run a sponsored abseil.  We've also run abseils from the HSBC building in York, Central Hall at the University of York and the Transporter Bridge in Middlesborough.

Freelance Staff Required
Rock Steady is looking to expand it's team of freelance instructors. We need MIAs, SPAs, BCU ticket holders.
We only employ highly experienced and qualified staff as instructors, so make sure you let us know the range of groups you have worked with, any specialist areas (e.g. team development, youth development etc.)

We are also looking for partners.  If you have a fleet of boats and can arrange your own staff, are licensed and insured, let us know what you can offer, and the areas you operate in.

We are particularly interested in people / teams located in, or prepared to travel to, Yorkshire and Northumberland.

email staff@rocksteadyadventure.co.uk in the first instance, a plethora of forms and other stuff will be sent for you to complete.

If you have availibility this summer (June, July, August), include your available dates in your first email.

Cheers
The RSTeam

Many people contact us knowing that they want an adventure, but not necessarily knowing which one, so we have put together a PDF brochure of our activities.

This is still a work in progress, and will be updated with images and more variations of activities as we find time (probably when it starts raining).
