Originally Castleton Hall, this building dates back to the 13th century and, together with the former vicarage, stands at the heart of the village square. Walkers staying at this hostel on two separate sites will be spoilt for choice. There are many fine routes around the valley which is overlooked by the spectacular Winnats Pass and Mam Tor, known as the shivering mountain. Peveril Castle and a choice of underground caves are all within walking distance.
